two party system, two party system
i took my shot... but i missed 'em
one party system, one party system
i took off my drawers... 'cause i shit them
no party system
1, 2, 1, 2
always just the 1, 2
marching in line, no we haven't got a voice
3, 4, 5, 6
will it make a difference?
well won't it be better than the illusion of choice?
No party system!
No party system!
No party system!
No party system!
smiling faces greet him, handshakes and a warm words
a decent man, a citizen, they hand him his card
the pen feels snug in her hand, as she draws the curtain
and steels herself to sign away her self-determination
1, 2, 1, 2
always just the 1, 2
marching in line, no we haven't got a voice
3, 4, 5, 6
will it make a difference?
well won't it be better than the illusion of choice?
No party system!
No party system!
No party system!
No party system!
in the political theatre, it's the final curtain call
and if we just sit and stare then it's the end for us all
this vast farce mounted for the public's entertainment
the program of power, while we watch it they maintain it
distraction for the masses, one more reality show
well, of course it's fucking real, what'd you think, this was joke?
but the jokes on all of us because we've let them make the choice
if it's left and right, the same old shit, then we've already lost
the say they represent us, that we're the one's with the power
we choose who will rise and who will fall
but it's no choice at all
because they represent nothing but their own little clan
and they're all in it together, the brotherhood of man
the lesser of two evils, well i've heard it all before
and look where it got us! and we've got the same fate in store
because the money keeps flowing, and we keep voting
and nothing's changing but the names on the ballots
but i won't vote the line anymore
i won't vote against my conscience anymore
if there's a real choice to be made then i'll make it
to be free....
looking out from the inside we can't see
that there's another way for it to be
"i'm part of something larger, it's my duty," oh, that's shit
when you gonna realize the whole thing's been rigged?
we feel involved so we let ourselves be fooled
we're complicit in our own oppression... we're their tools
every time we climb into that little box we've given them our blessing
to grind us down even further,to steal our rights,
to spend our money on war, death, pollution
to implement the final political solution
we don't want to have to think, and we don't want real freedom
because then we'd be guilty, we'd have to take responsibility for our own lives
and they've taught us to be weak, so we can't function without rules
and we won't know what to do when the system finally falls
but if we can get up off our knees and face the future without fear
then maybe we can find the strength to make our stand right now, right here.
